- Stop living under a cloud that you cannot lift alone.
You are feeling depressed and want a way out of the darkness. You may be experiencing unexpected crying jags, mourning a relationship, grieving a lost loved one, and are saddled with feelings of sadness, shame, and hopelessness, or don’t know why you’re feeling depressed, it is time for a breakthrough.
Embracing your demons with ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) is to create a rich and meaningful life, while accepting the pain that inevitably goes with it. Be willing to walk through the darkness to light to make “it” release in an understanding and non-judgmental space here in Hope Happens.
We will find the “root causes” of your depression and take steps to heal you.
Reality can be painful; life isn’t easy. The pace, confusion, and uncertainty of contemporary life can lead to denial, disorientation and despair. You will encounter all sorts of barriers, in the form of unpleasant and unwanted ” private past experiences”(thoughts, images, feelings, sensations, and memories). Depression can be accompanied by a sense of emptiness, loss of interest in activities, sleep problems, and weight changes. Yes, you want to get rid of depression, anxiety, urges to drink, or drug, or eat, or whatever traumatic memories that tyrannize you, causing depression, low self-esteem, fear of rejection, anger, grief and on and on.
Depression is treatable. Be willing to feel anxiety and the anguish of confusion about your depression numbness and pain. Learn and practice responding with compassion for your pain. Be open to decide to release your feelings about past hurts.
It’s true, the ways you’ve been wounded by others – these events really did happen – you were hurt and then angry and then shut down and in depression. You can walk through the grief attached to your history of hurting and being depressed. The purpose is to transform your relationship with your difficult, depressing, tyrannizing thoughts and feelings so that you no longer perceive them as “symptoms,” but as harmless. You can breakthrough and release the feelings of sadness, grief and worthlessness commonly associated with depression. We will investigate and identify the stressful situations or major life changes that might be triggering depression, study the roots, face them, change perceptions, and heal.
You can be released from the weight of hopelessness; you can lay down the burden of despair, and regain control of your life, finding new meaning and purpose. No more “struggle”. Recover joy and your smile.
